The original logo of “The Hammers” was a crossed pair of rivet hammers. A castle was added to the logo and symbolizes a famous local building, Green Street House. The logo was redesigned by London design agency Springett Associates in the late 1990s.

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC Logo History

Before 1960, Wolves used the City Crest. But in the late 1960’s, Wolves launched their own club logo comprising of a single leaping wolf, which later developed into three leaping wolves in the 1970s. In 1979, Wolves changed to the now famous wolf-head badge.

The present logo of Wigan Athletic FC is actually the Arms of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan granted in 1974 after the creation of the Metropolitan Borough. The new design features two of the aspects from the original Arms used by the club as its logo – a Crown and a ’Wiggin Tree’. The full club name is displayed in a ring.
