The present logo of Wigan Athletic FC is actually the Arms of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan granted in 1974 after the creation of the Metropolitan Borough. The new design features two of the aspects from the original Arms used by the club as its logo – a Crown and a ’Wiggin Tree’. The full club name is displayed in a ring. Here are the previous and current logos used by Wigan.
